What is and why FedEx Smartpost?

In a nutshell FedEx SmartPost picks up our shipments and delivers the packages to a USPS facility for final delivery to you by a postal carrier.

Combining FedEx’s superior package expeditor service with the USPS' broad domestic coverage results in less handling and lower cost for our shipments, which allows us to stay competitive and pass savings on to you, our customer.

Depending on the shipment, FedEx SmartPost ships packages to the most efficient points in the postal system. Delivering to Bulk Mail Centers (BMCs), Sectional Center Facilities (SCFs), and Destination Delivery Units (DDU’s).

2-8 business days (longer time-in-transit outside the continental 48 states)
